I was up until 2 am playing Tetris on my new phone. I think the best that I did was 58 lines; I'm not even sure if that's good or not, since I'm not a gamer and all. Dear Lordie. I also downloaded so many polyphonic ringtones. I got a new phone (Panasonic GU87), but I still have the same number. My ringtone is "So Yesterday" by Hilary Duff. HAHA.
My mom never went to parent/teacher conferences. Wow. What I'm Thankful for this Thanksgiving... (I'm going to be using a lot of "I'm thankful for..." so excuse the redundancy) PARENTS I know I constantly complain about my parents on this blog, but I am forever grateful that I have them. I remember when I was little, my parents would fight constantly, but everytime in the end they would make it up to each other. I'm so thankful that they are forgiving and merciful. I'm thankful that they met in the Church, and thus got married, and so I was able to grow up in a Christian family. My parents have always been very hardworking since they were in their adolescent years. My mom had goals and willingly strived for them; she told me how her parents never cared about what she did, or how her grades were, but she was motivated, and pushed herself to do well. My dad, much more humble than my mom, worked hard in school (he would memorize textbooks), and would study by candlelight in the CAL dorms. I'm thankful that my parents push me to do well. Even though at times it can be a pain in the ass, they keep me on track. I'm thankful that my mom is the best cook in the world and that I have the privilege to eat in her kitchen. I'm thankful that after our huge fights with heavy door-slamming and crying, she is able to make a smoothie for me and apologize. I'm thankful that my dad is more understanding about my progress in school than my mom. Many times he tells me "It's okay, I wasn't exactly the smartest kid in the school, but I worked hard, and I know you can do it too." I know how much my parents love me, and sometimes I think they love my brother and I more than they love God, but I'm thankful for how well they do their job. BROTHER If you have actually seen my brother and I together, you would know that we are CONSTANTLY bickering, arguing, and physically fighting. My parents would take one look at us and then another at my cousins (Angela and David in particular) and ask, "How come they never fight, but you two do all the time?" My brother is the one that I've probably had the MOST arguments with in my lifetime. I'm thankful for every one of them. They constantly consist of "GET OUT OF MY ROOM!" "LEAVE ME ALONE!" "WHY ARE YOU SO ANNOYING?" I believe that all of those arguments have brought us closer together. You may not think that my brother and I get along, but believe me, we do. On weekends we sleep in the guest room with our dogs and stay up for hours watching late-night TV (Family Guy. woohoo). Yesterday we spent an hour looking at our yearbooks and commenting about random people we saw. He would tell me which girls he thought were cute, and which were hideous. I'm thankful that we actually have a relationship, rather one that is silent, and one that we'll grow apart from each other in the future. HONEY Honey, man, she is seriously like my daughter. I love her to death. She's like the childhood friend that grew up with me since I was six years old. I have tried to spend every waking moment with her. I'm thankful for all the times that she slept on my bed, and even every puddle of urine that she's laid onto my white carpet. I'm thankful for her company every time I cried, and for every time I was happy. God, please let dogs go to Heaven. MY INGENUOUS EGGS I love these girls. I'm so thankful that our morals are all similar and that we all love Jesus. I'm thankful for growing up with Cheryl. I'm thankful that Stephanie and I can totally relate with the "nonflirting." I'm thankful for Valerie, who is totally smart and I can be weird around her. I'm thankful that these girls actually give a crap about what's going on in my life, and offer moral support 100%. I'm thankful that after every sinful thing I have confessed to them, they do not judge me, and continue to love me like their sister. I'm thankful that even after how obnoxious and sarcastic I can be, they do not shun me. I'm thankful that after I get so angry and totally PMS, I am able to apologize, and they respond with "It's okay. I understand." CHURCH I am so thankful that I go to a Church where I can totally give praise to God, and learn from the sermons and classes and actually apply them to my every day life. I love the people in my Church because they're just like my brothers and sisters. I'm thankful for my highschool group... (these are people who I talk the most to, know the best, yaddya yada, you get it) >> KATHY I love talking to this girl. I'm so thankful that she's so girly and that she keeps me sane. I'm thankful to be able to confide to her about my "secrets." She never fails to make me smile. I'm thankful that she's so energetic and funny, and that we're able to have two hour phone conversations about anything. I love to hear her opinions and it's great to laugh with her about the most stupid topics. >> JON I'm so thankful that I got to know this guy. Even though we're so segregated now a days, he was a blessing to come into my life. Subconsciously, he taught me more about life and brought me closer to God. I think it's because of him, that I have been able to turn to God a lot more. Although I can be really mean to him, and dislike him for all of the drama he has caused in my life, I love him as a brother and genuinely care about him. >> MIKE Mike keeps me sane too. Even though you may never imagine me being friends with a guy like Mike, since our high school lives and "activities" are so different, we have so much in common. I can talk to Mike about anything without feeling stupid, and he's probably one of the most sensitive guys I know. Despite his hardcore character, he's a sweet and great guy. I'm thankful that he understands a lot of the things I go through, and is willing to listen to my annoying rantings. |
