Today Cheryl, Steph, and I visited the animal shelter to go see if this little white dog was there. The dog was there, but it already had a waiting list of three people. Sorry, Steph. :( You'll find the dog of your dreams soon! I felt so sad at the animal shelter. Seriously though, if the strays that are found there aren't adopted or claimed by their owners in 7 days, they get put to sleep. So as I passed by each "dog ward" (they swear its a mental institute), I couldn't help but think that some of them will be dead in a few days. What disturbs me even more is that it'll be the ugly and old dogs that will be put to sleep because they will be the ones who will most likely not get adopted. When I get older, I'm going to have a huge backyard and adopt all the ugly and old dogs so I can take care of them. Hm, highly unlikely, but I feel so much sympathy towards animals, especially towards dogs. HOW CAN YOU RESIST? sigh.
Later Cheryl and I went to Newpark and we shopped. I will never again order Auntie Ann's garlic pretzel. Not only does it give me terribly bad breath, but it is spicy on the tongue and lips like none other! I'll stick to original, please. Then I played tennis with Stephanie. I wasn't very used to my new grip, but by the end my shots became a little more normal. Tomorrow we're going to the homeless shelter to help out. It's difficult for me to be around helpless people. I know it may sound a bit arrogant and selfish or what not, but it's not that, it's just that I feel so bad and as if I can't do anything significant to make their lives better. Shrug. |
