A week ago, I got a B+ in regular English. Yeah, I know, what the hell, right? When I saw my grade on the corkboard I felt so dizzy because I couldn't even believe it. Yeah I guess BSing my last two essays wasn't such a good idea because I got Bs on both. Still, I had gotten As on almost everything else. I did my work, I didn't cheat, I paid attention, and I respected the teacher.
I guess this grade affected me the most because I KNEW that I deserved an A. Dude, I can't believe I even cried because of this stupid grade. I hardly cry over grades, only if my parents make a big deal out of it. So, I fought for it. I prayed. I trusted God. I talked to my teacher about my grade explaining why I deserved an A. This continued on for the whole week. I explained to him the sloppiness of my recent essays because he bluntly told me, "You suck as a writer." Haha, okay not that harshly, but something to that extent. I told him to read my writing from earlier on in the year that he had praised and liked. Today he told me that he's making sure that I get an A- in the class. If I had never opened my mouth, I'm sure he would think nothing of it. Be bold. Thanks God. -- In the past, I would think that being Christian was such an easy thing to do because a lot of my friends were Christian as well. They "understood." Gradually I've been realizing how much sin is in this world, and how many people shun God, and choose sin over Him. It's really been harder. Often times at school around people who don't believe in God, or don't have as strong a faith, I feel awkward around them if I bring up the subject of Christianity or my faith. Like for example once I mentioned that I read the Bible in the morning, and one of my friends was startled, laughed, and said, "WHAT??" It's little things like that that make me uncomfortable and make me less open about it. Or when I wear my "JESUS IS ENOUGH" shirt, I sometimes feel paranoid of what other people will think of me. Like how someone laughed at my shirt. However, I really need to learn to get past it. It's so hard to approach non-Christian people about Christianity who's judgement you care about. And I always think to myself, "Later." Even now when I'm talking about it, I don't know if I can do it still. Meh. Help. |
