Today I picked up my sophomore year yearbook. I read almost all of the things that people wrote to me. My group of friends have changed so much. Well not my close close friends, but some people who I used to be rather good friends with, I now despise. It's amazing what two years can do; it's amazing how much some people can change; it's amazing how much of a fine line there is between love and hate.
I began thinking about what I'll write in people's yearbooks at the end of this school year. Will I actually make an effort to write something meaningful and long? When I write "KIT", will I actually follow through? I honestly think that I will only consistently keep in touch with less than 10 people from high school. Everyone else will just become a memory. After the USC architecture program, I only talk to Raymond, Alex, and Janice. I occasionally talk to Lorenz and Anthony. For most of the people, I haven't even talked to them since the program ended. I see them come online, but I really have no motivation to talk to them. We all hung out and had a great time at USC, but now it's just dead. Once we separated from each other and went back to our own separate lives, it's like we never met in the first place. I'm wondering if that's how it'll be when everyone heads off to their own colleges. Sometimes I don't like how our "high school hangout" group is so huge. It's great that we can all have a good time together, but sometimes everyone is just so fake towards each other. There are groups within groups, and not everyone is even that close. I'm only close to probably six out of what... eighteen? However, this group has always existed since freshman year, so now we're all obligated to invite and include everyone to everything. There's a lot of animosity and drama issues between certain people. Meh, high school sucks. On the topic of colleges, my decision is basically pending on two more schools, but I'm still waiting for eight more decisions. Isn't it scary that we'll all know where we're going for college in less than a month? Life is moving too quickly. Please, slow down... |
