"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us...For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees?...But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it."

- Romans 8:18-25

I miss the highschool you's.

I hate what college does to some people.

I hate what the world does to people...

I just got a drunk call from one of my good guy friends, and it was just so disappointing. Before entering college, he had never drank a drop of alcohol. When all of his other friends went out to party and drink, he abstained. And on the last day of school, he promised that he would not change--he would not drink in college. Then there it was.

"I'm kinda tipsy right now so don't really mind what I say to you..."
"I thought you said that you wouldn't drink!"
"You know what? I thought so too, but I've already gotten drunk three times."
"I'm very disappointed in you..."
"I'm disappointed in myself also."

There was more to the conversation about how I was his best girl friend and he wished me the best in life. Just listening to him ramble on and on like that was just so unlike him. I almost wanted to fly down there, get him out of that party, take care of him, and knock some sober sense into him.

Why is it that we have the need to conform with the world and why is it that we have a constant need for temporary highs?

I am just so heartbroken right now. I wish I could have more faith in people, but in reality, I have to realize that as humans, we are all so weak.
