RELIGION. I hate that word. I think most Christians do.

I've always gotten things like, "She's so religious," "Aren't you really religious?," "Oh I'm not religious."

Ah! I always cringe at the sound of those three syllables. Let me tell you why. To me, religion implies that it's only one part of your life. Your life revolves around you--and then things that make it up are things such as social background, career, family, political views, etc. etc. and somehow religion fits in somewhere inbetween. It's something that you feel obligated to follow maybe because of superstition, culture, family background, or because "everyone else is doing it." It's a set of rituals in a certain way in order for the ritual to be done correctly, and to please that higher being.

AH, but let me tell you! It's the other way around. This "RELIGION" is my life--and all the other things are just a part of who I am on this world. I pray, I make these weird posts, I read the Bible, I go to church three times a week, I sing and worship because I WANT to. No one's forcing me. My family isn't urging me to be strong in faith--in fact I'm the one urging them.

Once you've seen the revelation and glory of God's enduring love, how can you not give Him your all? BECAUSE this is not religion. This is an intimate relationship. This is GOD! ...And God is love--so this is the greatest love you can ever find. And God is good--so this is the best that you can ever search for.

Yesterday I watched "The Fabulous Life" (you know, the show with the guy who narrates with the cheesy accent) on VH1 and this episode was "The Fabulous Life of Celebrity Religion." All it could center itself around was how celebrities spend a load of money to buy blessed water to drink or buy bling bling cross necklaces worth more than $30,000. To them, religion is to "keep them away from evil spirits", or another reason to accesorize. AHH that is why real faith is SO much more than just "religion."

FABULOUS, in the world's point of view, means riches and fame--who can outbeat the other with their money? What "fabulous" should REALLY mean is God's glory. That truly is the fabulous life. Ahahah I'm going to start my own show, "The Fabulous life of Those Who Follow the Cross." Okay maybe not, but that thought lasted for at least 15 seconds.

Though, out of the whole episode the one thing that I agreed with was when one of the commenter's sarcastically said, "Yeah you know whenever those rappers win an award they always thank God. '...And I'd like to thank God for having me win best video for my label 'I suck yo momma.''"

Seriously man. It disturbs me that even people who "acknowledge" God are still so much in the world. We are so sinful; thank God we're forgiven.
