The EBCB Women's Conference was such a blessing to me. Martha Peace was our guest speaker and we were so lucky to have her because for one, she's written many good Christian books, and two, she isn't going to travel worldwide to speak (she's from Georgia) anymore until a few years later. Her waiting list carries on for a couple of years!
The main topics she spoke about were influences about the world (feminism), vanity, anxiety/depression, and moral purity. That woman is just such an inspiration with an amazing and convicting testimony. Basically, her teachings have given me even more encouragement to have a quiet and gentle spirit, be the weaker vessel, and to plant seeds (evangelism). I really need to take advantage of singleness right now and build up my Christian life so that I can best glorify God with my future partner/spouse. What a joy it will be to be submissive to my husband and support him in any way I can. :) It was also so wonderful to just be and have fellowship with the SISTERS on Friday and Saturday (while the brothers had fella-ship. Harhar). Amazingly, the brothers made such a good lunch for us! It was Thanksgiving-food worthy. What's MORE is that we were each given a pretty tote bag and bar of soap! I also bought Martha Peace's book Attitudes of a Transformed Heart, which should be a very refreshing and humbling read. -- I'm taking ballroom dancing lessons! My first lesson will be this Wednesday with the lovely Gene Kim as my partner! We both suck right now, but we are going to pwn like no other! |
