Alright, it's time to talk about Oak Glen a little bit.
I had a long phone call with Sally today about how everything's going (even though we've only been apart for less than a week) and I was just telling her about how I wish a lot of people from church in Cupertino would have gone to the conference, including my brother. But then again, was it God's will that they didn't end up going? Hm. Everyone has their times, yes? Yeah so the only college people who were at the conference were me, Sam, Chris Chen, and Tiffany. I was hoping to see and talk to more people, though. OH WELL! The conference was still good. Basically the conference started off with evidence that Jesus Christ is real and that He was able to fulfill the prophecies that were told in the Old Testament. Joanna told me that she read in an article that 97% of the prophecies have been completed... only 3% remains to yet to be fulfilled. GOSH! At that moment, it just hit me that the Lord is coming SOON. How exciting! The other meetings were concentrating on being obedient to God just as Jesus was obedient. This involves consecrating every decision that we make to His will. They were very practical and simple messages, but ones that definitely served as good reminders. I guess the highlight of the conference was just having fellowship with my brothers and sisters. I just enjoyed so much sharing with everyone, encouraging the younger ones, and just praising God with the Body. I also really liked being the "baby" of my cabin and talking with the older girls. :) Mm.. I can't wait until the day that I can become a serving one, though. Praise God. -- I'm having doubts about membership class again. |
