I really hate wearing sunblock because it makes my skin smelly and sticky. I rarely wear it, which is a bad thing because I don't want to end up with skin cancer. Anyway, it's been really hot and sunny lately, and thus I've been getting a lot darker. I blame it on too much fun in the sun.

Now I want to go to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

Yesterday was Jessica Kao's (Cow) nineteenth birthday!!! We drove more than an hour north to go shopping.

So on the way to Vacaville, the conversation led from MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen, to Rhianna, to her song called "Unfaithful," to the beginning of a mini episode of memory suffering. For some reason I thought of an old song called "Un___." Not knowing the blank, was KILLING me. You don't understand how much it was bothering me. I also influenced Jessica and Tiffany to suffer along with me. I knew it was by a black female singer and there were two versions of the song. It took me half an hour to remember the tune, parts of the lyrics, and that it's by Ashanti. When we got to Vacaville, we still couldn't figure it out so we started calling people, but they were no help whatsoever. FINALLY, when we were at Puma, one of the people who worked there asked if we needed any help. Initially we said "no," but then seeing she was black, young, and female, I knew she'd come through for me. I said, "Actually yes, you can help us. This is very random, but..." And I asked her. I even had to sing some of it to her. She ended our misery! The name of the song is, "Unfoolish." Yes, I knew I could count on my homegirl.

The rest of the time, I bought GOOD CHEAP clothes, which includes three $5 shirts! I am satisfied. Debra bought a jar of chipotle mustard. We then went to Banana Leaf for dinner (just like last year) and since Tamie works there she totally hooked us up--extra peanut sauce, free drinks, free desserts... It was a Thai-food buffet. Afterwards we watched Prime, which was a really awkward and uncomfortable movie. I thought it would be a romantic comedy! No, the trailers fooled us all.

I am so surprised at my parents. They didn't demand that I be home by 11 p.m., in fact they didn't set a curfew for me at all, and they didn't wait up for me to come home. They're learning to let me go. :)

I'm really beginning to appreciate and enjoy the sermons at Church in Cupertino. I remember I used to dread joint meetings because I always dozed off at some point. I also didn't like the Chinese-English translation switch off. Anyway, I like sermon style meetings. Today Pastor Jeng went over the first chapter of the book of John and talked about the divinity manifested in Christ. He reminded us that without Christ we would have no life and still be in darkness. That's truth right there.

A couple weeks ago, my non-Christian friend asked me, "Why does Christianity emphasize Jesus Christ so much? He doesn't even come in until the second half of the Bible." Christianity has EVERYTHING to do with Jesus Christ. He was there with God since the beginning (John 1:1) and is the reason that we can even have a relationship with God. He was a living sacrifice--the lamb of God, and His blood cleansed away our sins and purchased a place in Heaven for us. God planned it out so meticulously and so lovingly. He sent His own son to become flesh (John 1:14) so that we could even witness God on Earth. Jesus is tangible proof that there is a God and that He is good, and will go to infinite depths to show His love to us. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6) Jesus, You never fail to amaze me. You are glorious.
