"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us...For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees?...But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it."

- Romans 8:18-25

I was not meant to drive big cars.

I drove the SUV to Berkeley yesterday to transport our dining table and chairs to the apartment. I felt very tall.

Our apartment is sooooooooo beautiful. Besides Cassandra and Sally's beds, our apartment is officially furnished! Junia, Henry, DChoe, and DCheng went through great efforts to transport and move in our couches! I am so thankful for them. :) Oh, but how wondrous the couches are. They're so comfortable, clean, and huge. When I was cleaning up the apartment, I went over to the fridge and saw the most random thing there. Daniel Cheng's senior portrait was on our fridge. So freaky, but so hilarious.

My day at Berkeley consisted of making instant lunch (hehe) for Daniel and Jake (they helped me carry the dining set), decorating my room, driving Jake to church, watching some good 'ol Boy Meets World on my squishy couches, having Lena come over and being more amazed at the couches, and having dinner with Lena and Bethany at Sufficient Grounds!

I've become more familiar with talking to Junia on the phone. It is quite interesting and we always amuse each other with our British accents. For some reason, I talk in certain accents with certain people. When I'm around Jenny, I talk in my fobby accent. When I'm around Junia, Lena, and Hannah, I talk in my British accent. It's hard to control!!!

Anyway, I want to blast to the past. Here are a few excerpts from a similar date in past Augusts:

oOoh my family got a new fish tank salt water aquarium thing.. and its relocated too. its next to the front entrance. its pretty!! and HUGE. see what happens when i leave for one day and how much stuff my family does without me. tsktsk. now my mom has gone shopping for fish.. altho we already have like 4 in there, but she wants prettier ones. theres two clown fish.. and theyre EVIL! they tried to bite me when i was getting them out of the old tank! stupid fish.

my shoulders are so sore. i think it was because i had to quickly travel across the monkey bars yesterday when we were playing tag. i am getting too old. i remember when cheryl and i rocked at monkey bars, but that was first grade. we would get really ugly bubbly blisters everyday. sigh it was great.

August 2004
My obsession for Les Miserables is rekindling again. My dad bought another version of the CD, which is performed by the Royal Albert Concert cast. They are so good! So I uploaded all the songs onto my MP3 player and I constantly listen to them while I'm driving. I adore the story between Eponine and Marius. Poor Eponine! :(

...I suck at guitar, but I love practicing and singing while I strum along to some good old Church hymns. Unfortunately, my brother pointed out that I can't sing and play guitar simultaneously for beans. I usually tend to sing off tune...

How time flies.
