"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us...For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees?...But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it."

Sisters Appreciation 2007

Clues leading up to February 3rd, 2007 6:30 p.m.

February 1st:
I call Jacob to ask if he wants to go out for dinner for Estera's birthday. He tells me he can't because he has to work out with Chris. Later, I call DChoe to ask if he wants to come, but he says he has to meet up with Jacob.

Me: "Uh... are you sure Jacob knows that? He said he's working out with Chris... Maybe you should call him."

February 2nd [during morning ED11B section]:
I ask Chris how working out was with Jacob. Chris says that they never worked out and never intended to. I am flustered because Jacob lied to me.

February 2nd [after ECF]:
I accuse Jacob of being a liar and tell him that I can't trust him anymore. I call him the boy who called wolf. (playfully of course)

Sam also starts asking a lot of questions. "How many of you girls are going?" "So we're going to pick you up? What time?"

The brothers also decide to "hang out" afterwards and have a sleepover. The sisters become jealous because they always hang out without us!!!

February 3rd [morning, after receiving Bethany's email about Celebration of Sisters]:
A thought runs through my mind, "Wouldn't it be cool if the brothers surprised us with Sisters Appreciation instead of us sisters going to Macaroni Grill tonight?"

February 3rd [a couple seconds later]:
Another thought runs through my mind, "Nahhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

February 3rd [5:45 p.m.]:
Sam still hasn't picked us up and we're starting to worry. I called Sam, but it went straight to his voicemail so I called Steven instead. I hear Jacob in the background, and Steven tells me that Jacob's talking to Sam. I hear bits of, "Park in the back." Anyway this part is very confusing. Later Sam calls me and claims that he never knew he had to pick us up, but he's coming in five minutes.

February 3rd [6:00 p.m.]:
The reservation for Macaroni Grill is at 6 p.m. and after Sam picks us up he says that he has to drop by church to pick up something. When he arrives, he parks by the curb and goes inside. Me, Cassandra, and Grace are waiting for awhile, and we start having thoughts... Sally then calls me and tells me that she's in a car right behind me (their car left way earlier than ours). Me, Cassandra, and Grace start getting REALLY suspicious. I then get a glimpse of Daniel Lee in a tuxedo from the door. WE START SCREAMING! Then we start calming ourselves down saying, "Let's not get our hopes up." THEN WE SEE STEVEN IN A TUXEDO! AND RICHARD AND JOHN! We scream some more. Sam comes back into the car and we start asking him what's going on. "What do you think is going on?" is Sam's reply. "Um.. nothing.. nothing..." "We're filming for something," Sam says. The girls become a little disappointed and feel a little stupid. HOWEVER. SAM SAYS, "GO OUTSIDE!" AND WE KNOW IT! We go to the front steps of church.... AND SEE A LOT OF OTHER SISTERS AND THE SIGN! "SISTERS APPRECIATION!" After we wait for a little while, the brothers open the front doors and they're in two rows in suits, and the girls start SCREAMING IN DELIGHT!

Welcome to the Sophomore class' Sisters Appreciation.

Honestly, I was blown away. I guess I'm naive, but seriously, with all those clues, I didn't suspect anything. I'm so gullible. Sally figured it out yesterday. These are the brothers who make fun of us all the time. These are the brothers who fought with us to get the front row for the class retreat picture. I'm so surprised and happy that they took the time to do this and pulled it off so well. From that night, I could definitely tell that they were growing, maturing, and becoming more loving!

There were games, praise, prayer, musical performances, open mic, gifts (which include white T-Shirts so we can join in their dress code) and last, but certainly not least, DELICIOUS FOOD!!! Wow the food was SO good. I'm so impressed! :)

Overall, thank you so much brothers. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! :)

The girls still need to have a Celebration of Sisters, though.

And there's a fatty amount of people in our apartment (boys mostly) watching the Super Bowl. It smells like popcorn and jalapeno poppers. I think... I'm rooting for the Colts? HAHA.
