A few days ago I got back from a week long study tour to Sweden and Finland. Every day was event-packed with cultural experiences, dining, recreational activities, and visiting a bunch of architectural buildings while sketching. Personally, the highlights of the trip were playing Red Rover on the beach (didn't get dark until 11 p.m.!), visiting St. Henry's Church (gorgeous), two cruise buffets, and my first time at a sauna (minus seeing a bunch of my peers skinny dip into the lake). Tiring? Yea. I couldn't wait to return to my bed with clean sheets and go online. :P My feet are also super nasty from walking so much, but Nate is soon going to send me a care package (complete with ramen and a Pedegg!). A soon-to-happen self pedicure in my room.
Life here seems to become more routine and I still can't believe I'm going to be here for another four weeks. I can't believe that when I was in Finland, I was aching to come back to Copenhagen (does that mean I see it as my home?). I know the train and bus routes, I get by on extremely broken Danish, and I'm a regular customer at the Chinese owned "Bagel and Dreams" shop. Some things I still can't get over... how SO many people here bike (37%!), all the cute blonde hair blue eyed babies, and how to pronunciate street names with odd slurs. I still don't know the correct way to say the street I live on. Well, of course, one of the people I miss the most is Mr. Chang, but fortunately because of technology, we have webcams and the beauties of MSN. I hope this doesn't embarrass him too much, but I love the capabilites of the "print screen" button. :) |
